Why be normal, right? Everyone else at the drags has a golf cart to haul their stuff or they are using a lame little Smart car that will fit in their trailer but you’re better than that. You need something different and frankly, something way more handy than a Smart for Two…especially because your crew guys look like trained bears at the circus in it. What you need is this interesting little electric truck that we found for sale on RacingJunk. As it turns out these are being imported into the USA now after getting approval from NHTSA to bring them in. The seller here does not use the official name of the truck which is the Lifan Pickman. You guessed it…Chinese import.
The truck can haul 1,100lbs, has a top speed of about 30 miles per hour and qualifies as a “NEV” or “Neighborhood Electric Vehicle” for paperwork purposes. We have read stories where they are priced around $5,000 but the one we found here is at a steeper $8,900 which may indicate that (1) the seller knows that these things are going like hot cakes and people are paying good money for them or (2) the seller expects that you will not spend a lot of time looking them up and seeing where else they are being sold and for how much money.
We think that this thing would be awesome as a push car/pit vehicle because it is small, has way more useful space than a golf cart and a smart car, and could be outfitted with a tool box and other functional stuff to make a racer’s life easier.
Now the most important question…can it do burnouts?
