Wanna Go Big Riggin’ For Cheap? This 1951 Brockway Runs and Drives And You Won’t Have To Find The Diesel Pump!

Wanna Go Big Riggin’ For Cheap? This 1951 Brockway Runs and Drives And You Won’t Have To Find The Diesel Pump!

If you are someone who has wanted to own a vintage big rig but has not wanted to break the bank on a huge dollar restored truck we have found your rig. This 1951 Brockway 260 is for sale and while it is not perfect, it is perfect enough for guys like us. The truck runs and drives, it is nearly all intact, has limited rust issues, and best of all it has some kind of unique looks to it. From that cool Brockway nose to the really interesting windshield, this is an awesome truck. Oh, while some may consider it a detriment, we think the gas motor in the thing is a bonus. After all, you get to skip the diesel pump and throw some pump gas in the sucker to drive it down the road.

We have told the story of Brockway Trucks here many times but the Cortland, New York based manufacturer was a pretty legit player on the national scene all the way into the 1970s. Mack bought them and then labor problems and other issues saw them shutter the company unceremoniously, ending the tenure of a true quality truck building company.

This short wheelbase 260 is also great for anyone who does not have room for a big long truck. As you can clearly see, the trucks of the 1950s were not nearly as mondo as the trucks of today so storage and all of that is way less brutal than if you were going to buy a 1980s Kenworth or something. Basically we’re just trying to help you win arguments against owning this truck.

572ci worth of inline sixer gas engine will take you down the road the two speed rear end will have you going slow and slower as your little heart desires. This thing is awesome and we want it. $5,500 bucks….c’amon someone!
