Winter Is Coming! Be Prepared With This 1947 Oshkosh Snow Blower Truck That Could Eat A Town

Winter Is Coming! Be Prepared With This 1947 Oshkosh Snow Blower Truck That Could Eat A Town

As the shorter days, cooler temps, and changing leaves start to make their presence known to those of us in colder climates, that can mean only one thing. Winter is on the way! With that comes the need to service snow blowers, buy shovels, and get plow trucks that have been slumbering for a year back on the road. It also means perhaps picking up a new piece of equipment to screw around in and have fun with  aid in clearing snow and ice from your property. Allow us to suggest this fine hunk of historically awesome iron. This trucks is a 1947 Oshkosh that was sent back to the plant in 1969 and given a complete factory tear down and refurbishment. With four wheel steering and four wheel drive it is unstoppable and with that massive snowblower hooked to the front it looks like something out of a horror movie. Trees, buildings, cars, and brick walls would be no match for the mighty blower on this truck.

How strong is the that draconian implement on the nose of the Oshkosh? It has its own power unit which is riding on the bed behind the cab in the form of a 464ci four banger that makes 68hp and 303 lb/ft of torque to spin, grind, and throw whatever is in the way. The cab has a series of levers and stuff that the operator can push and pull to lift and lower the unit, move the chute, and maybe even reverse the direction of the thing in the event it gets jammed up with a Cadillac or something. As best we know, these trucks were available in both gas and diesel forms. The seller did not say what type of engine this particular model has in it but safe it to say that there’s either a massive gasoline burning inliner in there that makes little horsepower and loads of torque or a massive naturally aspirated diesel in there that makes little horsepower and loads of torque.

This thing pretty much rules and we need it in our lives. Thanks to Sean M for the tip!

When i grew up,we had one just like this sitting at a industrial area outside of town(Mo i Rana Norway)..looked just like this one,but it was a FWD..dont know where it went.

That thing would make an awesome B-movie prop. The only question is whether the hero or villain should get to drive it.
