Re: Roadside Find: Chevy Truck Personality Test

I'll take what I have in my driveway my 65 D100. I drove a 72 wrecker for a while helping a friend of mine in the junkyard buisness ,350-4 w/4spd,ran and drove well, he had 2 others ,both Fords ,plus other rides Chevy,Ford Dodge, really no brand loyalty. I had restored my truck but it was a victim of someone elses mistake driving, its been repaired but not finished.

    I say take the driver.
That old pickup is sweet, and just ripe foor modding.

The wrecker is likely gonna need a bunch of work.
Just judging from what I can see.

A friend had a ramp truck made out of a 61 chevy C40...it was almost perfect, with a big block and th400, but that 5 something rearend ratio wasn't so nice. This was about the time that the just started making the 4L80E so buying one for a low buck truck was out of the question.

If it was a ramp truck, it would be PERFECT.

I'm a sucker for anything in red. Mark me down for the wreaker. P.S I lovve anything with a payload 1 ton or more. Would be cool to redo the whole thing body wise behind the cab in aluminum to save weight but paint it so noones the wiser. Replace the duals with some fat micky/sportsmans and do the 468 with a viper spect t-56! O.K put the straight jacket back on me and put me in my padded cell LOL

Hell, a chain or a good stout length of rope can turn anything into a tow vehicle...LOL

I dragged a bunch of projects home with that 66 suburban I had...and my older pickups too.......all it takes is a trailer

mark me down for the '64.

My father had one just like this when I was born.

he wrecker is cool and all, but I'm tired of fighting the rust monster.......and not much chance of makin' money towing with what appears to be an old 440 Holmes sling-boom.

The camper van(Meth-Mobile?) would guarantee an appearance on Cops....LMAO

As much as I like the wrecker...think I'd be further ahead in the finance, fun and wifey's sense of humour departments with the 65 C/10 -- but of course it would have to be air bagged and lowered (so much for finances and her sense of humour)
