Having driven one of those old mail Jeeps back in the 80's when I worked for a janitorial service, I can tell you they handle VERY BADLY. The short wheelbase and light weight makes them rough riding, and very tippy in turns. If you hot rodded one, I'd advise slamming it to the ground and put in a hot 4 banger. A V8 is just overkill.
