  • proportioning valve

There is an issue with the disk brakes on the front of my Austin A40. It seems the pads drag constantly causing them to "bind" and over heat. There are drums in the rear and they seem to work properly. Does anyone know what could be causing this other than the proportioning valve? Is there one valve that is recommended over others that may fix this problem? Are adjustable proportioning valves a good option for this application? Thanks for your help! Tom.

Sounds like your flexible lines have collapsed internally, creating in essence a "one-way" valve.

Might get more responses by posting this in the TECH SECTION. Blog section isn't frequented much in a problem-solving manner.

Oh, and welcome to the fray. Post up some pictures of that A40 if you can, we'd love to see it!

Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.
