Reading your story reminds me of just about every trip to a VW show I went to, until I realized that just leaving the motor stock was the way to have a reliable VW. The 1835 in my bus sure was fun around town though!

The VDub guys are as hardcore as any other car guys I've hung out with, more so in some cases.

Neat little rigs with almost endless possibilities for modding.
