I just emailed our senator to ask him to oppose it as well.

Looks like most cool '80s cars just barely squeak by with a combined mpg of 18.5 or higher - including the C4 Corvette, 5.0 Mustangs, and Grand Nationals. Still not a good idea but that was a good choice of cut-off.

As Shannon relayed to me in a telephone conversation earlier this morning, a "foot in the door' is all it's gonna take......time to slam that sucker SHUT again.

            Damn it. >

I was going to "clunk" my 80' c10 for a new camaro.

There isnt' a body panel left on it that isnt' rusty or crushed and it got about 13 mpg. Literally, nothing left worth saving except the LMC catalog under the front seat (unless it fell through the floor boards already).
            Cheap, slow, half-assed: Pick three

Based on the limits outlined in the article, it doesn't really look like there's all that much that'll qualify. 18 mpg combined is pretty low for the mid 80's and up.

But their foot is in the door. The gov loves incremental changes. Now the standards will be easy to change while we aren't looking.

I guess people like us don't matter, our hobby and passion are of little concern to those in power. They will however take our money to pay to destroy a car.

Still not fair to me, with my Eagle
                      gonna get crushed
I hope my A/C condensor doesn't go bad, because that is a near irreplacable part
Rumors of my demise by rollover have been greatly exaggerated.
