    And for the same money, you could have bought 2 Beech King Air's which carried more cargo and people, and had far lower maintenance costs. Not to mention, if produced - the aircraft insurance crisis of the early 80's would have doomed it in the marketplace. My guess is the only reason Bill Lear placed an order for the first one was so he could leverage his purchase into buying a potential competitor who he would immediately shut down.
