Re: We Missed the Party! Mopar Nats Cruise Gets Rowdy, Cops Tired
When cops decide they can't handle the crowds; you can bet they'll pressure the city council not to let the event happen again in their town. If residents start complaining too, consider looking for another venue.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

I was there and just as someone already posted, the locals caused most of the problems for the police. The Chrysler dealer in town used to have a burnout contest at the dealership but the cost had gotten prohibitive. It's a great town to cruise, I hope we don't end up with another Brice Rd. The police killed the cruising there. :P

Instead of complaining and futile crackdowns, the locals should try organizing the cruise (See Woodward Dream Cruise) and providing a sanctioned place for burnouts. 20,000 spectators is a joke compared to the 1.2 million spectators and participants expected annually in Detroit.
The police even organize safe and legal burnout contests on public streets in some places, See e.g., http://www.ercruisers.com/astw.php
