In HS I played in a surf band ('Tain't easy being a surfer in Milford, MI) and we were HEAVILY into the Beach Boys. We stole most of our tunes from them. The rumor was that Dennis fact-checked the lyrics for Brian but sometimes missed something or his corrections were rewritten in the final version, hence the obvious errors. Anyhow, Dennis was the car and surf dude in the group. A bit of life went out of the band when Dennis died.
