Re: Fontana, California's, Auto Club Speedway Not Following Upgrade Proposal

    Now I'm a traditionalist.

The Southern 500 ought to be at Darlington on Labor Day. North Wilkesboro should never have left the schedule. They ruined Atlanta. Dover, Richmond, Martinsville and Bristol are better on a bad day than the "cookie cutters" are on a great one. They should allow shifting at Pocono.

That being said how can they afford not to do what it takes to succeed in a TOP TWO media market? Or are we destined to repeat Ontario again? Or Riverside?

One of the problems is too many tracks concentrated in too few hands.

Fontana was a great venue for Indy Cars, but the NAscAR races are even duller than a typical NAscAR race. Penske was smart to unload that facility on the France family.

History has shown that LA is a difficult market for auto racing- I don't think anyone has ever solved the puzzle or ever will.
