Re: $25 Rebate on Edelbrock Air Gap Intakes

That's very cool of Edelbrock to offer buying incentives.

The reality of it is - there are several companies offering nearly exact duplicates of the performer series intakes - for around $100 less than the E-brock price (Summit stage1,2,3, crosswinds, etc),
$25 savings is nice, but it seems what they really need to do is get better at patent infringement protection.

There's always something new to learn.

Still would rather have an Edelbrock AirGap. Better quality than the chinese knock offs. DF proved Weiands version was darn close in power, almost dead even.

Well - there's really no way to protect patents from national entities that thumb their noses at copyright laws. Particularily when we as consumers show little will to stop buying the bogus products.

The incentive program must be U.S. only - as I just ordered edelbrock heads for my car and no mention was made of any specials...

I'm not sure the Air-Gap is actually patented - Shaun, if you're reading this thread, can you comment? Generally, intake manifolds are a bear to get patents for unless you make a huge jump from anything else out there.

Not a Duster, while it is pretty much impossible to stop companies overseas from making a knock off if you don't have a patent in their country (or the local courts don't care), nailing their importers is a lot easier.
