Re: The Top 11: Never Made Special Edition Ford Mustangs

The II's were certainly the dark days of the mustang, but let's not forget the fact that everybody was scrambling to meet the poorly planned EPA guidelines being forced down the countries throat....

Was there not a corvette of this era with only 165HP?

    Dark days indeed.

Of course - we'll need an Obama edition - it will never get built - but win awards for how great it might have been.
There's always something new to learn.

      Regarding the ANNA MUCCIOLI EDITION:
We already had one. It was called the Probe.

But at least the Corvette and the F-Bodies didn't look a Disney cartoon of their former selves. 1970s Bangshifters could (and did) pump up the power. The tiny wheels on the II were likely it's downfall.

        True enough!

[font=Verdana][color=red]Maybe, but the II's were a smaller, more modern approach than the aging Maverick chassis by that time. Having driven both, the Pinto/MustangII is a better driver
A Maverick-based "Pony Deuce" could have been made to handle as well (or better than) as a Boss 302 (the suspensions are similar). Of course using the II's tidy front suspension on a Maverick-sized Mustang would have been even better . . . ;D
