Actually...the top is removeable so it could be construed as a roadster. In reality, we will likely leave the top in place. It will also be running a 640 hp all aluminum 427w engine with a Rankin NASCAR trans. These components are typically allergic to gold chains. Having driven a couple of road course and autocross laps over the last few years in 3500 lb musclcars with 10" street tires, I am loking forward to working with a 2000 car with big sticky tires and plenty of horsepower. ;D

        See you on the track!

Re: New Ridetech Project Car: a Factory Five Roadster!

I think this is a totally awesome car. It will out handle the Factory Five competition Cobra . It would be so cool to show up at a SCCA meet and use what looks like a HOT ROD to beat some snob with a Brand "X" sports car. Wish HRM had of spent a little more time (coverage) with the black # 13 they covered the build of .

Bret- just wondering if your going to Air ride it instead of the springs and shocks their going to send you ?

Hope so but the last one I read showed Some suspension going together and those doing the assembly signing the trunk.

Really like the whole concept, ever since HRM did that road race inspired drawing of a 33 way back when. Then when the "Larry' concept car was shown, it came to life.

Are you guys at Ride Tech open to visitors checking out the project cars? I need to pick up another air spring anyway.

neat.....now, if you could figure out how to go around corners with smaller tires up front it would look great!

From what Bret told me, yes, his will have air springs.

They don't make a coupe. They are all roadsters (well, not by Henry Ford's definition because the windscreen does not fold down), but they have removable tops and a bolt-on windscreen to run when topless. You can order full fenders or bicycle fenders.

Gonna go ride in Kinnan's right now. These cars are way cool.
