You're missing the point. Shelby was such a legendary "genius" that he completely missed the opportunity for hawking kit car Cobras or other high power-to-weight smoggers until it became so obvious that someone of Paris Hilton's sterling cognitive capacity couldn't have missed it.

And Shelby's dabbling with Toyotas is about as impressive as if Enzo Ferrari would have quit his day job in when the regulatory storm descended, and then fielded a couple of Borgwards or Trabants. Or Vic Edelbrock Jr. "pulling the chute" and then running a Formula Vee . . . .
