Re: Daytona International Speedway Trades Seats for Ferris Wheel?
Permanent retrenchment . . . .
(and the ferris wheel might actually be more exciting than another stage-managed contest of restrictor-plate-equipped, non-production, common-template "NASCARS," handbuilt by hundred-million-dollar superteams, and driven by homogenized, scripted, "cookie-cutter" corporate drivers)
On the other hand, they DO have a ferris wheel at Le Mans . . . .

Re: Daytona International Speedway Trades Seats for Ferris Wheel?
This past July they didn't even open the seating in the super stretch... and the grandstands that were open weren't full.
I'm not sure that tearing out grandstands and spending hundreds of millions of dollars building a miniature theme park next to the track is a wise idea... but whatever. Maybe their thinking is that the grandstands are only full two days a year, and that's if the races sell out; while tourists could hit the mini-theme park year round. Not sure how well that's gonna work out, since we've got other theme parks going out of business and getting sold lately.
again... eh, whatever. I learned several years ago that the rich don't take advice on money issues from us common folk. They're gonna do what they're gonna do.

i wonder if the ferris wheel will be populated by lots of little 'cars of tomorrow', and whether all ride seats will be equipped with a hans device tied to the cage to help with the roundy round g forces?

toyota - the xerox of the racing world
Prolonging it's death? Maybe. Fact is, Toyota bucks help keep NASCAR on life support. Lucky for you that NASCAR made Toyota compete with the Domestics by rebuilding a Domestic-spec engine (archaic junk), because they have engines that came in production cars that, STOCK, will run circles around the best domestic cup car engines. Don't even think about giving them an apples-to-apples, fair chance because they'd dominate from the first lap! let's all be honest here, the domestics NEED protection from the imports whether it's NASCAR, NHRA, or the local car dealership...www.realtuners.com - catch the RealTuners Radio Podcast on Youtube, Facebook, iTunes, and anywhere else podcasts are distributed!

Show me the stock GM engine out of a junkyard that can take 6hp per cubic inch on stock guts... for those not inclined to do the math, that would be a 6.0 LS1 engine, stock pistons, rods, crank, heads, and intake, making 2200hp. If GM were that awesome, a phone call to Jegs could put your GM engine within striking distance of a Top Fuel Hemi motor!www.realtuners.com - catch the RealTuners Radio Podcast on Youtube, Facebook, iTunes, and anywhere else podcasts are distributed!
