Re: Pay Up Sucka: NASCAR Charges Crew Chief Big For Low Car

Yeah, but $50,000 was worth something back then (when regular folks were actually racing production cars).

In the modern corporate, common-template, scripted plastic driver, over-hyped, "nothing's stock anymore" NASCAR, $50,000 won't even pay a single car team's bills for one race. It's a slap on the wrist in the era of multimillion dollar sponsorships and factory-funded multi-car superteams.

What they really ought to be issuing fines for is single-file "racing," "stoking" and "just riding" until the last 10% of the race.

And ban all the common-template, non-production, anti-American Toyotas while they're at it! NASCAR should be about racing production-based cars that are relevant to current offerings, engineered and built in North America by American-based companies.
