would the poster of this had a different take on the title if it would have been DF?

If at first you don't succeed . . . DOH!

DF's got 37 back-up cars, so would he even miss one?

BTW, his editorial in the latest HRM is about a narrow brush with possible forfeiture of the re-born "Crusher Camaro:" Open headers . . . the scream of a honkin' Jimmy stuffing it to a big-block ripping through the night . . . clouds of tiresmoke . . . Five-O rolling . . . assuming the position . . . "I love it when a plan comes together." ;D

Re: Dumbass: Aussie Driver Who Had Car Taken and Crushed By Police Has Second Ca

A few years ago the Aussies lost their guns and now for what would probably be a misdimenor here (some crappy states for as little as chirping your tires) they lose their cars. Terrible law. I hope that guy saves his cash and buys a plane ticket rather than the next car.

I wonder what he was doing with the car to have it crushed.. Normally I'd say give that kid (and the rest of us) a place to race, but Perth has a good track.

Maybe he is in the 90+% of conviscatees with the "Imprper Use Of Motor Vehicle" excuse.

Yeah but it was built to do good burnouts.. So that's not "improper use".. :P

Since I have been here in OZ, I have seen some fascinating driving that rivals the most stupid things I have ever seen in the US. It's usually the old people that commit this acts of driving insanity, as I am sure they did not even drive a car until they were in their 50's. Defensive driving here includes wrapping yourself in bubble wrap while sliding into your car with 6 airbags, distance transducers, mega-insurance policy, panel beaters (paint and body man) on speed dial and the all out 5 point harness. People usually park on the street causeing abnormal blind spots and sight inhibitors on a whim. It's literally "fun" going to the corner store for some bread.

                      Can't agree more..
It is amazing the kind of incompetent driving I see each day from what appear to be "regular people". (mostly foreigners I'll add. Mostly Asian, Indian & Middle Eastern taxi drivers.)
Sure I've seen "hoons" do silly things, but in general their competence level behind the wheel is incredibly higher than the so called "law abiding" and these who our police and government are punishing. The incompetent "law abiding" break loads of rules all the time, and when they aren't, they're still a f-ing hazard to be near.

Last weekend an Indian woman failed to giveway at an intersection and t-boned my mate in his 68 Camaro, which then careered into a store front. The Camaro was written off. Only running gear salvageable.
Now her insurance company appear to be fighting him regarding value of the Camaro.

I'd be adding sentimental value to the car, cost of shipping another from the US, and future investment value.
on top of that he should have got out of the car and started flopping on the ground.. "Oh my neck, and my back.. and the back of my neck.. " :'(

Not 100% on the facts yet, it appears her insurance is fighting for the $20K over the "market value"..
Well then, instead of her insurance paying out the claim in cash, let's see if they can replace the car instead and be $$ in front.
"Market values" are so far off the mark with these type of cars.
It's a moot point anyway. His policy has the agreed value clearly stated. That's what he'll be paid even if his own insurance co has to suppliment the claim.
