That's back when the cars had as much hair on their chests as the drivers.
If they'd only left the series alone, it would have developed into a true Formula Libre (run whatcha brung).Act your age, not your shoe size. - Prince -

Aaaaaawwwwsome! :o
For those who have never seen a CanAm car in the flesh, get to a vintage race and check it out! Even if you?re a hard core drag racer, do yourself a favor and check it out.
Those are big blocks people, big cube V8?s with basically no rules.
The drivers in that race are astonishing, Surtees, Hill, Gurney, Donohue, P. Jones, McClaren, and on, and on, and on!
I was also not aware of that race track in vegas, very interesting.

The straight-away was used as a drag strip and all the "big guys" ran there back in the day. It was rather short lived as I think there was a casino (shocking) built on it.

Dammit, Brian. I nearly made it through the whole day without learning one thing and you screwed me.Originally posted by Brian LohnesThe straight-away was used as a drag strip and all the "big guys" ran there back in the day. True!
Hell, it's awesome when the rich vintage racers drive them quickly... and carefully.
I can't imagine wringing them out in true anger? :oComment
