I've seen lots of pics of those flag starter guys back then. They seemed to be as flamboyant as the announcers back then. I think we are missing something now having a tree start races.

I love these pictures from the days gone by. They are a wonderful reminder of the past.

This strip reminds me of those long emercency exits for truckers when they loose their brakes. That up hill shut down area should really help shave off the speed in a hurry!
