Re: Craigslist Pick: When Custom Paint Goes Wrong

I beg to differ .... I know I'm just showing my age but I think with some updated wheels, maybe even if it was tubbed, it would be perfect!

Putting aside the four-door controversy for the moment, is the garrish paint on this car really any less of a "time capsule" than the paint on the $3,000 Road Runner we discussed a few months back? (See http://www.bangshift.com/forum/index.php?topic=16133.0)

The 57 is a "time capsule" from a different era/decade. To me, it's just right. The RR on the other hand is definitely from a different era and more outlandish, but, I like it too.

that kinda paint job belongs on a mazda or nissan mini truck with some chrome escalade rims, but not a 57 chevy even if its a more door

To alter this canvas would be a artistic tragedy. Something like dogs playing pool on a velvet background.....yes a classic!

it's not bad, and nothing like the 90's over the top paint..
and the easter egg blue fits right in with all the other rods of 87-95
all it needs is a molly hatchet type painting on the underside of the hood to be perfect
