    Sad.

Add in guys like Wally Parks and Dyno Don and they've certainly got enough legends up there to run a bitchin' drag race.

A lot of us fondly remember the old-time drag racing radio ads that used to run on big clear channel "flamethowers," like "the Big 89 Rock of Chicago, WLS." Just hearing one of those "Sunday, Sunday Sunday" ads through the center-mounted dashboard speaker just made you want to do an impromptu imitation of US30 right there on the boulevard!

The closest thing we have now are those monster truck commercials. And any radio production guy with a "flanger" can do one of those . . . . It's just not the same, is it?

I knew if I searched for it, I could find one of those Big 89 WLS commercials for US 30.

Here's a Superjock Larry Lujack "air check" from back in the day with an awesome US 30 spot. "Tickets are still just two dollars . . . Where the great ones run!" http://www.lostindiana.net/Lost_Indi...es/wlsus30.wav
