    just inclose the wheel.. make it part of the cage.

    It's gotta be open on the bottom at least for installation and contact with the track.

      no kidding really..
      ever hear of things called bolts.. the bottom is open so the tire can have it's contact patch to the track but not so big that the tire can fly away..
      most times 99.9% if the studs/axle flange failing is when the tire has grown ..
      oh no. they might have to hit 6 nuts with the air gun to get the cage off then the wheel/tire
      bummer alll of what an extra 30 seconds added to changing the slick..
