Re: Carnage Video: A Tractor Puller Crashes Through the End of the Course
This is exactly why the Pro Stock tractors and bigger are required to have a kill switch that is both a break-away switch (in case of hitch breaking, and ALSO controlled by the sled operator. As soon as the operator noticed that the transfer wasn't working and that the driver wasn't stopping, he should have pulled the kill switch (and locked the brakes on the sled). That could have ended very badly.Still plays with trucks....

Re: Carnage Video: A Tractor Puller Crashes Through the End of the Course
I was at a pull and witnessed something similar.
Only instead of a mound of dirt at the end of the track
there was a chip truck parked just outside the end of
the track. After the full pull mark the sled operator hit
the brakes, the tractor and sled went through a fence
and came to a stop bumping into the chip truck :o
No one was hurt but it easily could have been messy.
The vendor in the truck probably messed his shorts.

Did anyone notice that the weight box never moved, which I'm sure lead to the speed of the tractor.
I'd sum that up as Sled Operator Error ;DJeremy George in Windsor NY
