A sad fact indeed that Petty's car killed an 8-year old boy at Southeastern Dragway in Dallas, Georgia on that day.

Betcha didn't know that prior to the accident, Petty drove that same car to the B/Altered class win at the 1965 NHRA SpringNationals held at Bristol Dragway.
