    Re: Ford Brings \

"One Ford" would work a lot better in NASCAR if Hendrick and its drivers were part of the team.

Is the "One Ford" concept really that much different from what Ford had Pete DePaolo set up for them in the mid-1950s. DePaolo's Charlotte-based, factory-backed operation became Holman-Moody after GM hoodwinked Henry Ford II into signing the infamous Automobile Manufacturers Association "Racing Ban" in 1957.

It will be interesting to see how information sharing will affect the pace of research and development.

One Ford what? Ain't nothing on Force's car that's Ford except the name. Gee that's a funny looking Furd there! A little bit more like one Chrysler if you want to draw parallels.

It's more than just a nameplate (and some wind tunnel time).
Besides continuing their joint development program through the 2014 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series season, the automaker and JFR will supply other Ford operations in what it calls the "One Ford" philosophy. The immediate beneficiary is Bob Tasca Racing, which will receive mechanical and technical support from JFR and begin racing the Boss 500 engine as early as next month's event at Las Vegas.

Ford and Force Racing unveiled the first new entry into the nitro burning hemi engine field in modern times. The crew developed the engine using space age analytical tools, beefing up the main bearing journals and surrounding webbing to help keep the crank and pistons from windowing the blue anodized block. Force Mustang Funny Car driver Mike Neff will be the first to huff the good stuff through the blower, with Robert Hight and Ashley Force phasing in the mill in their own Mustangs after nitro scientists John Medlin and Austin Coil fine tune the 8000 horsepower nitro burner.

And to think Austin Coil used to work out of a two car garage in a Chicago alley.
Force Racing claim their motors are "Ford based", but I've never read how they are any different from any other nitro Hemi. Maybe the valve covers look like Boss 429's, but they are all covered up, so how would we ever know?
