At that time of night, it was likely a young guy with a young, freshly broken horse that got away. My Amish friends often talk about a young kid with a new horse much like English people (English being the Amish term for non-Amish) talk about a 16-year-old kid with a new driver's license-- all kinds of stories of accidents and general destruction. I've witnessed horses completely out of control, darting into lanes of traffic, while the young Amish buwe holds on for dear life.

Toyota has nothing on a crazed horse.
