Wow, what a great show. Tons of eye candy. The cars were pretty cool too.

        :D HA! :D

No doubt...I don't get the whole "playing dress up" thing with this generation of "Traditional" hotrodders - both male & female.

Old cars are cool - old fashions and hairstyles for the most part are just - - old.

Sorry Dude, but I've got to mildly disagree.

It's true that there are too many "tats" and "freak show" get-ups in "traditional hotrodding" these days.

But there's not much that beats a shapely lass with good hair (not a hideous Kate Gosslin bob job or a "man-style" Ellen butch), an elegant & tasteful tailored "retro" dress, and a color-matched pair of high-heeled pumps.

Freiburger's "Hot Rod Deluxe" has been slamming it out of the park on the fashion score for the past few issues. And thankfully, he's resisted the urge to use tattooed "circus freaks" as models, as so many of the other "Retro" mags do.

I'm dog-tired of the slouchy Abercrombie/Old Navy/Walmart/Hip-Hop-Video/skater/tribal look that pervades most modern fashion. I remember when young people (including hot rodders) didn't always look like they slept in baggy clothes shoplifted from Goodwill. The Beatniks, the Hippies and Kurt Cobain are dead . . . and their grungy fashions ought to be dead as well.

And a traditional hot rod show is not an episode of "Survivor" or a metal concert, so why should participants emulate such hackneyed styles of popular dress?

I celebrate those "traditional hotrodders" who are attempting to reenact a little of the elegant, tailored style that used to be part of American culture before 1964.

                  I love the style!
It harks back but with new twists.
Anything can be overdone and some are but most look great!

It is also a really nice change from the stripper in a bikini and platform shoes...*yawn*

My problem is that they call all of this stuff "traditonal" but I can honestly say, even as a young teenager (and that was a very long time ago) I never saw folks, especially the girls/women, dress or look like what I see here.

Yeah, some of the outfits are as ridiculous as the 1950s "cowboy suit" Doc picked out for Marty McFly in "Back to the Future III." The subtle point was (and remains) that most revivals of a particular style tend to exaggerate fringe elements and get most of the important details all wrong.

Yep. Of course those slackers lounging on Chad's tetanus-mobile could stand a little spiffing up . . . . ;D

                          Looks like a great show.
