    THATS A RACER...
Only if they are fast enough to qualify though.... racer or starker, slow is out and fast is in.

MATT, LETS MOVE FORWARD TO THE "CHASE" you got the 2nd in points in the garage.. badly hurt.. and the #1 in points team has the funds to ask the parked cars to go make laps.. pushing the other cars in the chase back in points..
making the champchip not a race, but chess moves off the track..
most of the start and park are running race to race on hendricks dime,
now matt two of the drivers I follow are hendrick cars, and you could say 3 of them are..(smoke)
      this is not racing..
show up to race to the checkered flag or don't show up, for the race.. even robbie gordon didn't do this and that team was bleading money they didn't have..

So Hendrick is paying start and park teams why again? They have no effect on the outcome of the race and if he's paying them it's not enough, remember the guy who pulled the car onto the track with NO PIT CREW last year? Rick must have forgotten to mail the check.
That which you manifest is before you.

That's a lot of ifs, ands, buts, could bes, maybes, and might have beens, Ironhead. Here's what I know. The practice of start and park will not change unless the rules change. I proposed a solution that would end the practice. It's NASCAR's ballgame and they make the rules. You can whine all you want about the character of racers who exploit loopholes in the rules to their own competitive or economic advantage, but that is something that will never stop happening.

brian you might want to watch the last ten races this year..
if johnson or any of his teams is in the hunt and lets say harvice is in the garage, a car that started and parked, seems to, lo and behold, show up on the track making laps.. if the othe chase team is in the garage early enough in the race to spread the points lead..

You're talking about start and parkers taking racing spots about from ARCA, ASA, Truck teams, etc. What is stopping them from showing up, qualifying, and earning those positions and money? NOTHING. If those teams can qualify ahead of the start and park teams, that money is there for them to take. So go after it big boy, don't piss and moan about the man holding you back. Or lobby to change the rule, like I suggested, because until the rules change, there is no reason for someone not to exploit it to their advantage. That's what RACERS do.

IMHO...smart racers run hard and expect to win - but also know what things cost and when to take the money and race again later. Momma didn't raise no fool, take the money. Stupid racers run until their shit is all over the ground then bitch about it. I'll take $85K vs tearing up my race car when I know I'm damn well not competitive any day, thanks. And yes, if others want in the qualifying door is open, step up.

Damn right they should. If it wasn't for the spectators there wouldn't be any kind of purse for the racers. No audience for the telecasts means no sponsor money. The racers need the spectators more than the spectators need the racers.

Sponsors want to see their cars on TV. That isn't going to happen if all you do is park it 3 laps into the race. I watched the Texas race and they don't even announce who parked.

Teams with only one car and no back up also can't afford to have their car wrecked during the race. They wouldn't have the funds to build another car and get to the next race, so they make the choice of getting to the next race.

I agree tha Nascar should change the rules on payouts to teams that just park the car. I think the happy medium paying the team that raced and wrecked or blew up the $85,000; and substantially less to those teams that just parked their car. The amount of inspections going on at the track, it wouldn't be that hard to verify mechanical failure.
sorry these teams are not the ones with one car..
and if you look at the listing of car spots, it'll list in garage.. if you didn't see it in the wall or smoke flowing from under it.. it 98% was parked..
answer me this,, what about the teams that spend the money to get to the race, and are 44/45/46/47 fastest and watch the first 15 laps to see the cars ahead of them park for no reason, what about that teams fans that found a way to get there.. or all the other fans that came to see 43 cars race..
                            I've been that 44th car,,
Heard about the greatness of Ironhead before , but still no proof.
