Re: Legendary Smokey Yunick Chevelle on eBay
Those goons over at pro-touring should take a few pointers.
15" wheels are the only choice on anything made before 1980, everything else looks stoopid.Cheap, slow, half-assed: Pick three

I've often thought that if I ever change directions with my chevelle, I'd like to go this route.....Think Ricky Bobby!Whiskey for my men ... and beer for their horses!

Re: Legendary Smokey Yunick Chevelle on eBay
He also made a '67/'68 Camaro to run Trans-Am; it, too, was told to leave the track and never return. He did such things as give the front fenders a small droop to benefit aero; route coolant through the rollcage to enable running greater compression and therefore make more power; route FUEL through the rollcage for obvious reasons; set the engine back J-U-S-T a tad to gain better front/rear balance; the list goes on. This guy was amazing in the way his mind worked!
I would also love to see someone (GMP?!) make a 1:18th of this car to go with their excellent Smokey Camaro! Considering they used Ertl's P-100 Thunderbolt to make a replica of a Georgia-natives drag car, they could do the same with Ertl's Authentics-level Malibu to create this! Maybe not; that would require making a new front- and rear-end; Smokey's car was a '66, Ertl's is a '67. Crap. Oh well, nice idea while it lasted.

Re: Legendary Smokey Yunick Chevelle on eBay
This car should be in the new NASCAR Hall of Fame, in the same room with all the if-ee and illegal parts.
One of the few GM's that is on my dreamcar wish list, along with Smoke's Camaro.
A tribute street stocker would be a bitchin' way to build a Chevelle.Jeremy George in Windsor NY
