There is a kickass Fairmont box-top on the latest MM&FF with a 3 valve 4.6L . It is suuuuuuper cool.

    Brian,
To answer your question I think it depends on what this guy really has invested.
If he has both cars sitting around the Cobra wrecked and the other one a 4cyl or v6 car just sitting there ,I think it would be a good swap.
But on the other hand if he had to go out and purchase the Cobra stuff and or the other car it seems to me it would be quite a bit of work and money involved.
If it was me and I had the black car and it needed a engine, I would either go a 400 sbc with 350 Turbo or a LS6.0 with whatever trans I could come up with. And as far as stock you would be so far ahead with the 6.0 in the power department and under the hood wouldnt be nearly as crowded.
    But hey ,thats just me.

My sons 90 LX with 5.0 5spd 3.27 rear fresh paint , fixed car from a salvage. Mooresville Dragway 2003

That 4V Cobra motor has the potential to make a ton
more power, for alot less money than that 5.3,
    with a stock bottom end.
    min are you ok..
cobra 4v motors are not everywhere..
5.3 hell even the 6.0 and 6.2 are easier to find..
the buy in for the 4v is to much, for 305hp even 450hp..
it's a kool car and swap..
but it be like me installing the '10 f body v6 in my monty, sure the heads would turn at shows, and it make more than this pyle.. and add an eaton and bye bye..
but for the same outlay. I can bolt in a ls or an old school 350 and make more..
305 hp 4v swap.. great.. I'm sure when it breaks you can walk into napa and get parts for that engine..
    and walk out with it..
if he's lucky, it'll spit a plug through the hood..
