Re: Killer New Product: The Nightmare Motorsports Stealth Nozzle -- A Nitrous Breakthrough!

I've seen a nitrous nozzle mounted in a single plate manifold before. But it was a much cruder setup that just dumped a small shot of nitrous into the plenum. That's a pretty clever trick there with having eight little nozzles on it targeted at the runners.

Re: Killer New Product: The Nightmare Motorsports Stealth Nozzle -- A Nitrous Breakthrough!

The Nightmare Motorsports nitrous system may be the latest, but certainly not the first.

Several years ago, I was roaming through the "parts corral" at a Good-Guys show at Pleasanton when an upside-down SBC intake manifold caught my eye.

Fuel and nitrous plumbing was routed to each of the ports from the bottom of the manifold. The seller stated the block in the rear china wall was equipped with pass-through fittings for connection to remote solenoids. The set-up wouldn't have been totally invisible, but not readily viewable.

My thought was the heat from the valley area was probably deleterious.

NM's deal reduces any heating problem by taking advantage of the "air gap" manifold design. I can see where it should work okay for water/alcohol injection with a blow-through [carb] boosted application.

As an aside, I'm still looking for info on what appeared to be a cast-iron GM manifold for a 348 W-motor mounting a 4-barrel WCFB in the center and a Rochester 2-barrel at each end. That was ~45 years ago in Indianapolis.

I will try to answer any questions you guys have. I can't provide TOO much info on some of the super specific stuff like how the fuel and nitrous mix in the Y-block, etc. until all testing in complete. There are bound to be a few more tweaks in the system to get her perfect. But I will do my best to help you out.

C1BAD66 - What you saw is an NOS system they offered that included all the parts and fittings to install a direct port setup on the bottom side of the intake. Definitely hidden...just a different concept then what we are using here. We have tired to come up with something that combines the simplicity of a fogger plate with better performance all WHILE being able to be concealed if so desired.

            Pretty dang neat idea.

            Two thumbs up.

Very cool concept and product. I hope it leads to successful products for you and further developments for intake manifolds in general...patent, patent, patent!!!! build those passive income revenue streams...

I'm all over this for an alky system for my LC2 Turbo6!! I'm honestly really surprised this has just come out since Mondello has had that bolt in "power cone" for years now that is supposed to redistribute air in a big open plenum single plane Olds intake.
