so by implication because some for-profit federation doesn't license these tracks - you'll be killed by flying debris.... could be motors, could be lead.... either way they're totally unsafe..... from dumb reporters.

Just typical clueless news reporting. Adding in facts that don't really apply. Like the TV story here about the drag strip being for sale - they sent a reporter out to get video and they showed video from the circle track. The trouble is not in your set.

Apparently there is quite a lot of wagering going on at Harrells, between both the racers and among spectators. Much like at the old US 30 near Gary, Indiana. I witnessed many fights at US 30 among the gamblers. That was 30 years ago, now we settle arguments with firearms.
