Re: eBay Find: An Exceptionally Awesome Sleeper Nova
I had thirty g in parts in my car over the 18 years it took to build it , including parts that were upgraded , which went with the car
sold it for 12 in 2001
you never seem to make the money back if you sell it all in one piece
I say part it out .can't go faster than 11.40 , no roll bar
if he can get that price , more power to him
if he paid to have the motor built , that could have been over 12g , but if he built it himself , it would have been much less , looks like he paid to have the whole car built

Re: eBay Find: An Exceptionally Awesome Sleeper Nova
Back in the days when we were dumb, street racing kids, and had a lot more time than money and actually daily drove what we had, I really wanted to build something a lot like this. Sleepers fascinated me like nothing else.
When my dreams outran my wallet, as they always did, I didn't think about big shiny 80's style chrome bombs, or flashy things, but instead I thought about grandma looking stuff like this, with steelies and dog dish hub caps and hopefully not even a SS badge on it, but instead just a '327' over the lens on the front quarter or something. I think some of the earlyish ('68 or so) ones still were clinging to the Chevy II name before they embraced Nova full-on.
And oh yeah, you've gotta silence the thing as much as you dare without sacrificing the power output. It has to burble at the stoplights...
