I'll have to ask around to some people here, but I've heard a story about the BLM or Forest Service once prohibiting (in the '90s or '80s) a mining company from using their dozer's to create a fire break for the local town and half the town burning because of it. I heard the story when some wildfires were getting near our property a couple years ago.Escaped on a technicality.

I wouldn't doubt they try to jack with him....
As an example: During the Columbine shooting, a bunch of us had commandeered a frontend loader from a construction site in the park behind the school. We were going to use it as cover to approach the school and make entry. A Jefferson County S/O sergeant ordered us to stop and said we had to have a CDL to operate it .... he complained and we got spanked for it!Whiskey for my men ... and beer for their horses!

I thought the Forest Service was in charge of fighting forest fires and they made firelines all the time. A couple of my friends looked into doing that for a few years until they could find something different and from their research, that's how I understood it.
