I agree! Hopefully the forest service or BLM don't go after him.

I'll have to ask around to some people here, but I've heard a story about the BLM or Forest Service once prohibiting (in the '90s or '80s) a mining company from using their dozer's to create a fire break for the local town and half the town burning because of it. I heard the story when some wildfires were getting near our property a couple years ago.
      Escaped on a technicality.

I wouldn't doubt they try to jack with him....

As an example: During the Columbine shooting, a bunch of us had commandeered a frontend loader from a construction site in the park behind the school. We were going to use it as cover to approach the school and make entry. A Jefferson County S/O sergeant ordered us to stop and said we had to have a CDL to operate it .... he complained and we got spanked for it!

OTOH, the fire department specifically asked his company if they could send anyone with a dozer over to help, so unless the fire department itself and the BLM get into a turf fight...

Re: Hero in Bulldozer Saves 32 Houses During Forest Fire

I thought the Forest Service was in charge of fighting forest fires and they made firelines all the time. A couple of my friends looked into doing that for a few years until they could find something different and from their research, that's how I understood it.

That's what is so stupid....I knew that, the 4 other cops with me knew that, but he didn't. The commander that sustained the complaint knew it, but it was sustained because we were ordered not to use it.

Its too late for them to make stink now that he has gotten so much positive press. They would get jumped on for looking like asshats. Not good for PR.
