    kool vid.
it also shows why nascar has the rules it does now.. 2 cars on the lead lap , by the half way point one two cars on lead lap, 3rd place (petty) was 3 laps down with 200 miles to go..
the cars might have been almost stock.. but the racing wasn't close. today most of the field is on the lead lap or one lap down at the end.
now if we could only get these rules with those cars..
how fast can dynacore pop out bodies

How about the photographer outside the guardrail during the crash around 1:15? Yikes.

Some pretty crazy racing between 7-8 minutes.

Sweet pit crew uniforms at 8:30 and 13:40.

The reason I fell in love with the '71 Montego, it didn't win that day but it won nearly everything else.
Just groovin' to my own tune.

Brings back memories of the hours the men and boys of the family spent in front of the boob tube, watching NASCAR racers that looked more or less just like our family cars. The brand recognition/competition thing was a big deal. And Pearson was a personnel hero, even for a 15-year old.
