      One great thing about the post 1960 Chevy/GMC's was they got the suspension right the first time and had few changes from '60-'87. Sway bars swap through all years, ball joints were the same taper so junkyard disk spindles swap out easy, etc.

      While he's in there I would suggest an upgrade to the '73 and latter clamshell motor mounts. Drill two 3'8" holes in the cross member, space the frame up 1/2" and add '73 up motor mount brackets. Its a great, cheep, junkyard upgrade from the crummy flat style mounts that are hard to replace and tear under upgraded power.
