Re: BangShift Poll: What's Your Favorite Brand of American Car?
Yeah, ask a question like that...I can't pick just one model from each nameplate! (OK, except GEO...what? The Tracker is a decent tiny SUV)Editor-at-Large at...well, here, of course!

Re: BangShift Poll: What's Your Favorite Brand of American Car?
I actually voted for Pontiac. I like a few Buick engines (Nailhead, 455, Turbo6), but car to car, Pontiac's have been my first choice. The first car I bought was a '69 Firebird, the first car I really wanted to buy was a '98-2000 Trans Am. I do like Pontiac engines too, but they are more 'conventional' in my mind. Though they have a cool valley pan that the Olds and Chevy's didn't haveEscaped on a technicality.

I had to vote Chevy.... :o
But I'd sell my mother into slavery for a '74 SD Trans Am.
Just joking....

You didn't have an "all the above" category and you need that, IMHO. I picked Buick as my first love but really I'm goofy for all of the above. I don't like to have to pick my favorite from among my kids.

I like Dan's statements about the kids
I drove and restored AMC's for many years
but ended up getting back to my roots
with the '55 ChevroletThom

Re: BangShift Poll: What's Your Favorite Brand of American Car?
I could pick a car from each brand that I'd like to own, but I've always loved Mercurys. Maybe because my dad's first car was a '41 Merc with a hot rodded flathead or when someone near my preschool had a brand new yellow '69 Cougar Eliminator or the first NASCAR race my dad took me to A.J. Foyt won the race in the Wood brothers Mercury in 1972.
Might be that last one ;DJust groovin' to my own tune.

Re: BangShift Poll: What's Your Favorite Brand of American Car?
this question is nearly impossible.
when ya can't make up your mind, chevy gets the vote. ;D
I have driven all of them, all in my family growing up.
the big bore short stroke chevy is always a win, the steel gauge of the last amc.. always a win.
the extreme air mover of a dodge..always a win.
the cadillac extremes, always a win...the pontiac daring to be different... maybe some vent through the middle of front bumper...defying steels path.
all winners.
taking it easy in the fords has been a favorite too.
they do not compete anymore.
I shoulda went with dodge for the modern charger build.. but voted chevy for no real reason.Previously boxer3main
