Re: BangShift Question of the Day: What's the Best Car Song of All Time?
"Mean Machine" by Sugar Ray. Not what one would expect, but that song makes me wanna go repave a parking lot with the tires...Editor-at-Large at...well, here, of course!
"Remy-Z, you've outdone yourself again, I thought a Mirada was the icing on the cake of rodding, but this Imperial is the spread of little 99-cent candy letters spelling out "EAT ME" on top of that cake."

My Father-n-law use to DJ, and has 15,000 plus 45 records in his collection, and somewhere I have a cassette tape of 30+ car theme song he taped from them for me.
I'll have to look for it, alot of the sounds I've never heard of me being 40 years old.

One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands...
Nine Pound Hammer - GearHead Blues
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvb-F2RdfE4
Word's around McDonald's
There's a new kid in town
Blew in from McLean County,
Fastest ride around
The Dukes don't believe what they done heard:
King lost by five car lengths
And then he lost his nerve.
Don't know who done it, but
He blew away the King
Rumor fancy turbo feedin' his machine
Well the King and his friends are the real live Dukes
Readin' hot rod mags in the back of Algebra class
Don't give a damn about nothin' at all
'cept for a four-barrel carb
And an over-haul
King told the kids
He was Number One
Said it was his town
They's gonna have to run
Final showdown at the 4th Street light
Howlin' full moon on a hot summer night
CHORUS:
Pedal to the metal
First sight of green
Send shivers down your spine
When you hear those hemi's scream
The Duke sat stunned as the kid pulled away
To leave the King a pauper to try another day.

1- Spacegrass - Clutch
2- Black Sunshine - White Zombie
3- Mr. Eliminator - Dick Dale and the Del tones (I've just always assumed this song is about cars, not surfing).
4- The distance - Cake
Cheap, slow, half-assed: Pick three

I grew up loving the Beach Boys. Little Deuce Coupe, I Get Around with "we always take my car 'cause it's never been beat", and of course 409. Yes I know the noise in 409 isn't even a GM product.
Jan and Dean, Drag City
Sammy Hagar's, I Can't Drive 55GM G-bodies, because I can't afford a 69 Camaro.

It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.
