The longstanding battle between Ford, Chevy, Mopar,, or any other manufacturer you are getting pissed at me for not including, will always be there. Look at the pic,

      lifter valley cover: Pontiac
      4 bolts per cylinder: BOP
Drivers side cylinder bank forward: Pontiac
6 Bolt mains with deep skirts: certainly not chevy
      high velocity ports: Pontiac
valve inclination angle: Closer to Pontiac's 14 than chevy 23
      Press on balancer: chevy
      Starter location: chevy and Ford

Looks to me more like Buick, Olds, Pontiac with some Ford Chrysler and other ideas, and its simply called a chevy.

I had always argued that they were "a GM power plant that could be in any GM vehicle" they stick them in Holden's over here.

Then a mate pointed out to me that a bowtie LS block is available from GM I don't comment any more!

Coors Light and Keystone Light are the same beer with a different paint job on the can. Call it what you want. Great engine in search of a decent car!
