Ya, but hopefully the possibility of this happening will wake them up so they realize how real the situation is.Originally posted by VTJUNKI don't think those are the kinds of changes congress is looking for.Comment

Re: Friday Excuse to go Home Early and Drink: The Seemingly Imminent Death of Pontiac
OK now I'll fix this GM deal right now with the TOP 10 Reasons:
1. Drop Chevy trucks, make GMC the truck line
2. Get the Camaro with a turbo V8 out today, it only took 8 years since we first saw the concept at car shows
3. Fire all current advertising agencys, any new ad strategy could do better than the ones they have always had
4. Drop Buick, give it to AARP
5. Drop Hummer, give it to the US Army
6. Drop all support of NASCAR
7. Declare bankruptcy for re-organization of all GM, a govt. bailout for constant Detroit stupidity is simply more of the same
8. Make nitrous oxide a performance option on Pontiacs
9. Make Chevy the economy car division of GM and bring back the GMC 8:71 Supercharger
10. Let Saturn die, or give it to the hippys.

Re: Friday Excuse to go Home Early and Drink: The Seemingly Imminent Death of Po
I HATE to see Pontiac go. Saturn started life as a legitimate separate car line but has turned into another confusing outlet for the same lines that the other Divisions sell - it can go. Hummer needs to die - I don't care what the markup is. That tub has no reason to exist as a passenger car. I'd give SAAB back to SAAB Aircraft (or whatever they call it). Those guys knew how to make - um - unique - automobiles with a strong cult following, like a high-priced Subaru. Let 'em have it, rather than kill off the brand.

Freakin terrible, maybe they need to hire Jim Wangers again as their spokesperson. This is just another result of years of listening to accountants and having guys that sold dipers last week sell cars.Comment

How about selling Buick to some millionaires who can run it profitably, building cars with room in the trunk for an extra set of sticks and a folding table for counting thousand dollar bills. ;)Originally posted by oldrodderMore millionares own Buick's than any other make.
