haha, well that what i try to do!
it looks like it might be a moot point in top fuel this year though.
i'm trying to think now of how many full time teams might show up this year.

Dude, sorry the Snowbird deal did not work out.

It's a short list on that front brother.

don't worry man, probably after the holidays i'm gonna start making plans for a trip down to floridia in feb.
there is two divisional races, the gators, and maybe some testing in between.
with everything going on, i'm serriously considering on a blower and getting a hold of a out of work crew cheif to show us the ropes.....
maybe run it like chrisman does. i've got a lot of questions, and it's a big jump but. if we are gonna do it, now might be the time.

good idea! i've been talking to ronnie swearengin (aka spare engine) he still thinks he has what it takes.
it's really a money issue of course, but it's something i could really get excited about.

Could be a modern day verison of "The surfers" if you play your cards right.

It would be really neat to pull a couple of those older guys out of the mothballs to play. I'm sure they'd have a few tricks to help you bring the noise.

My point on the fuel quantity is if these old tracks can only be safe at a certain top speed then maybe we should look at the rules in place when that number was a record.

Did the cars have 3 fuel pumps? 2 Mags? 2" Fuel lines? 25 galons of fuel on board? Thats my point.
Less fuel is less power, less power slower speeds.
Ok keep the 25 gallon cell, but you can only use a 1" fuel line and single engine driven fuel pump that draws the fuel from the tank,no pusher pumps. Welcome to what,1980? Keep all the modern driver safety stuff.

Look I wish we could go to a drag strip,1/4 mile, and watch true UNLIMETED Dragsters and Funey Cars push there way to 400mph but it aint going to happen.Last years cars were the end of the race for low ET in a qaurter mile, without major changes 1000' will soon be too fast.1/8mile next. Even if the rule changes to 250ci inline fours in time that will become too fast.

I still believe some tracks can contain the current cars at 1/4mile,Humpies new place in SC,Hell at Bandimir they had to push the cars off the track because they stopped short of the turn off! Let the tracks that are "safe" at 1/4 mile run 1/4 mile.
