Re: Vintage Race Car of the Week: Big Oly
Great story! I didn't remember the truck was in Gone until a week ago. I do remember seeing it in 1973 when we lived in Ensenada

That's quite possibly the most well-known Bronco in existence(well, that and OJ's white Bronco).
That's 2 Olympia Beer-sponsored vehicles that I know of(the big-ass NASCAR/LeMans Charger being the other).
Hell, does Olympia Beer even exist today? Remember seeing the cans around as a kid, but haven't since.

Cool article. I had always thought the Jones/Stroppe Bronco was packing a Cleveland (I just learned something). I'm digging the two-wheel drive set up. Didn't Chevy have a two-wheel drive Blazer on the market back in the early 70s?Nitrous, baby!!...

Still my favorite AFX slot car. It's still available from Auto World at most hobby stores. The Blazer is also around for sale as a slot car to. Get both and paint your track tan and all you need is a tiny Sal Fish to start the race. ;DJeremy George in Windsor NY
