There's no mention of the hydraulic rams that create the illusion of an awesome wheel stand. :

Starting bid 50k....yeah, right...they should start out at a dollar, and we could bid it up a dollar at a time, till it reaches scrap value.

        Uhhh.....sorry to burst your bubble....

The only nice movie cars are those that were not made for a movie, but that end up being included for other reasons. And those get wrecked.

What a shame. "Movie condition" as if that's something to be proud of. Fix the damn thing.

              Still no bids...

Re: Speaking of Hacked-Up Dodge Chargers...

DF is correct. It all has to do with the timing involved in making a movie, not the money spent. Yes, you hear they spend millions alone on the cars for a movie. What is not known is the very short span of time they have to put everything together. Sometimes it's 60 to 90 days from green light to start of filming. The people who are paid to come up with these cars spends some of that time with the director deciding what kind of cars he wants and how they are put together. Then they have to go and find several copies of the car and then build them to those specs and then ship them to where the movie is being filmed. They are often forced to pay too much for a heap because of this short time span. Since several of the cars will be destroyed in filming doing stunts, good quality body is never even a thought. Why replace a rusted out quarter panel if the car is going to be wrecked? Just spackle over the rust with a ton of bondo, make it somewhat straight and paint it. Camera's don't have the ability to see the details the human can so it doesn't see all the flaws.

By the time the movie is finished, there may be one car left out of nearly a dozen copies. Usually, it's the best one to begin with. It's the one that is just static in most shots and used in close-ups. I have personally witnessed during the filming of Nash Bridges that nice car was shot during dialogue near it. Then when Don Johnson is supposed to race away, they replace it with the crappy stunt version.

Now, long after filming and the movie is out in the theater and the movie made money; the producers would often spend money to make that sole surviving car look great in person so it can do the show circuit.

This is sole surviving Nova of four made for Death Proof. The stunt driver Buddy Joe Hooker owns it. It's a rattle trap. Buddy Joe had done some work to correct half assed repairs before the filming. Of the 8 Dodge Chargers used in the film Quinten Tarrantino has the last one left.
