Re: GM is Auctioning Vehicles Out of Its Heritage Center

The four that would be on my shopping list in order would be the Wildcat concept, the 572 Camaro ,6-spd Impala SS ,and the 91 Caprice

Why out of the long list would I want a square four dr Caprice . I think thats the one that has the BMW V-12 in it as a case study for building one for the B body caddy .

I noticed the 4-wheel steer IROC isn't on the list.

The rear-steer crap means squat to me, I'd just love to score a blemish-free body....LOL

Also absent are the V-8'ed Berettas.

It pains me to think that some of the "Crown Jewels" are more or less being "hocked" at the pawn shop of the rich and clueless, B-J.

I remember reading about the Corvettes ZR2 and Snake Skinner back in the early nineties. Those would be 2 I'd take.

I guess GM might actually sell some cars yet!

I hate to see that kind of thing happen! It helps to show just how bad GM's situation really is.

Hey DF..............did you know they had this many vehicles?

I figured they would've had some old iron tucked away
but man that's one helluva list.

Monk, this ain't even the "good" stuff.

Pray that they don't have to go that deep because by then it's Berlin 1944 kind of stuff.

They have WAY more than this. While the house-cleaning is super depressing, they haven't yet touched the really good stuff.

But what I wonder is if some of the really super secret stuff will ever see the light of day.

                    And the HRM Solstice, anyone....?

If they put the twin engined Citation X-11 on the block, I'd want to buy it just for the WTF factor. The Sprint Turbo Convertible might be almost as amusing for being a car that makes absolutely no sense... not that I'd pay more than three figures for it.

This make me wonder where is the big block 6 speed third gen they built? I remember reading about it in a old Hot Rod, IIRC it was white with white wheels.

I remember that one, wasn't it paired off with a clean creme-colored '55 wearing S-10 rims?

I forgot the V8 Berettas and Monte Carlo, IDK about the BMW V12 Caprice. Wonder if they have any actual '83 Vettes in there (Caprice wagon)?

                                Nope on the '83 Corvette.

The only one in existence(they were all test mules that were destroyed, save for one) resides at the Corvette Museum, located at the Corvette Assembly plant in Bowling Green, KY.

                                I remember the V12 Caprice.

The "Snake Skinner" 'Vette was equipped with a Falconer V-12(maybe it was a V-10), wasn't it?(I remember an issue with a handful of the engineering mules).

DF, I figured the Hot Rod Solstice went to the shredder after that exercise was completed.
