Re: Gearhead Destination: Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum

I've been there several times.....every time I take the family to the Smokies.

Some very nice cars in there, and some obscure stuff as well....I've met Floyd Garrett as well.

There's a couple of the Vanishing Point Challengers in the collection as well(the remake)....go there!

I've been by that exit a hundred times. I didn't even know it was there. I'll have to stop next time by.

Yup, south of I-40 a bit, right next to Volunteer Chevrolet.

Do you think there's a place to park a semi?

Re: Gearhead Destination: Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum

Well...being a driver myself, that all depends on what you're pulling.

Not really much space on the parking lot itself for a 53-foot trailer, but room on the shoulder for certain.

Might be better to drop the wagon at the truckstop at the exit(think there was a Pilot) and just bobtail down...then there'd be room on the lot for certain.

Maybe I'll unload the bike and ride there.

                      Thanks for the info.

That would be a better course of action...it's kind of a pain in the ass to get out of there going back towards the interstate

I was there in '98 and touched (shhhh!) the 69 ZL-1 Camaro, then announced I could die happy. Quite a statement for a 19 y/o at the time. Would love to go back again someday.
                          GM G-bodies, because I can't afford a 69 Camaro.

I still have some pics from the last time I visited...one of those happens to be of that Green Nova featured as the topic pic.

It's much nicer in person......as is all of the items in that building.
