It's amazing that no one got hurt. Think about how many times you've been standing just behind the wheels watching the tires on launch or making sure both wheels on the bar are putting down even paint.

i wasn't at that one, but i can tell you after seeing similar ones, that the concussion to anyone standing around it is amazing. it can almost leave you breathless...
i expect everyone to do that though, so i'm ready.
i saw randy meyers car jack both heads of his car once from the other side of the wall, i had to start patting myself to make sure i was all there. i bet dougs car was scrap after that, probably saved the front tires.

People did get hurt. Major shrapnel in the stands. 14 people were listed as being injured, none life threatening. This was the incident that tipped the scales for the reduction in nitro % for the fuel cars.
