Re: New Photo Gallery: 25 Gasser-Style Cars
Those are SWEET!
Didn't you have that '57 Chevy wagon in a multi-car feature in Hot Rod a while Back, DF?
I'm thinking it was the same article that Groucho's bitchin' Corvette was part of.
I know where a sweet pearl-white Henry J is at....not a true straight-axle Gasser job, but done up in a true drag flavor(the SBC is kinda disappointing).....thinking it was a former World of Wheels winner.
Will have to get with SpeedJunkee, if the owner of this(and a PILE of cool iron) will allow it, I'll try to get some pics of this and the rest of the stash within the next couple of months.

Re: New Photo Gallery: 25 Gasser-Style Cars
If I remember correctly the altered wheel base fad came into favor around 65 with the AFX cars. Everybody decided that was the new trick of the day and had to do it too. I remember we moved the rear axle on out 34 altered forward about that time. In hind site it didn't do much except unbalance the car ( that and about 200 pounds of lead we poured in the frame that I "found" at the print shop I was working at in Glendale. We added weight to drop down from B to C altered.)

Had a guy in '83 build a stout 327 double hump head engine, he was drop out on a second chance program, carried his heads home from Votech on the bus. Saw him after I graduated ,dropped the mill in a 55 with a straight axle ,nose high, Cool Then, Cool Now!
