Re: Video of the Week: Formula One Warmup
F1 cars are amazing to hear in person. I remember going to the Montreal race for the first time in the early 90s, with some friends who were running in one of the support races. We were just driving on to the island where the park and racetrack is, and I was thinking "what the hell is that noise"? Realized it was the F1 cars out for practice. They just absolutely shriek. Think of Indy cars, and then add about 75% more RPM.
cheers

Inconel tubing on the headers. They will last a while. Thats NASA engine thruster material. The cost on those headers are in tens of thousands of dollars. Much like a top fuel car they create downforce due to the extreme exhaust energy.
And thats an Arrows Team car.

The amount of downforce, and grip is just astounding.
And they make incredible power at astronoical rpm.

I'm gonna speculate that the car was still in "warmup enrichment" mode because no matter the coating, that's more exhaust heat than F1 cars run during a race...www.realtuners.com - catch the RealTuners Radio Podcast on Youtube, Facebook, iTunes, and anywhere else podcasts are distributed!
